I will try and keep this as non-bloggish as possible (even though I have never considered my domain a "blog" of sorts... it could be thought of as one). Anyway, I am working hard on Windows Vista Service Pack 2 information and heading to breaking out as much memory and CPU usage performance as possible. A few things I am looking at:
These points to note are all well and good, but mean nothing unless I make it happen. Unfortunately, it all takes time. Rest assured, it will happen... hopefully, before Windows 7 is released. :)
I have updated my Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Service Configurations to include "optional" services installed with Add/Remove Windows Components as well as Windows Live Essentials.
I have updated my Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Service Configurations. Each individual service will be updated as time allows. This could take some time, though, so stay tuned!
With yesterdays release of Windows Vista Service Pack 2, I will be updating my service configurations and PDF files accordingly. This could take some time, though, so stay tuned!

After a long round of messing with the color schemes, I have landed on a couple versions I like. You may choose Black or White from the left navigation if JavaScript is enabled. Enjoy!
To sum up the changes:
The site, once again, validates as xhtml 1.0 strict and valid CSS2.
The new web site layout is now published. If you find something that is just "not right," feel free to Contact BV. Check the Credits for more information.
I did not finish the site layout for publication this weekend, but I hope to accomplish this task next weekend.
I am working on updating the site layout and hope to publish it this weekend.
Updated the SL UI Notification Service (removed error) and Software Licensing service (added information) for Windows Vista (and SP1) based off of two reports in this thread: Windows Vista Services - Software Licensing.

Many service descriptions (the second half) are updated for Windows Vista and Windows 7. Windows 7 Service Configurations are also updated.
The Server Service issue is still causing quite a stir on the internet. Ensure that you have fully updated your system as to not be infected by "Conficker" or it's several variants.
In order to fix this issue, you need to patch your system using the latest update fix version: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS08-067.mspx
In order to remove the problem, you can use Microsoft's own removal tool or anything else offered from the company links above: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
Regardless of what you do or how you choose to go about it, fix/patch/prevent.

Another day, another year in the "age" column. 37 years and still a geek. :)

Official Windows 7 BETA (looks like build 7000) is now available for download in 32/64-bit versions.
32 bit version: 2.44 GiB
64-bit version: 3.15 GiB
They are in limited supply, so check them out now:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx
I could get a BETA key for each version using Firefox 3, but no download happened. I fired up IE *shudder* and an ActiveX component was installed to download in that manner. If you are having issues, try IE!
Also, according to the installation instructions located here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-installation-instructions.aspx
The Beta will stop working on August 1, 2009. To continue using your PC, please be prepared to reinstall a prior version of Windows or a subsequent release of Windows 7 before the expiration date. You won’t be able to upgrade from the Beta to the final retail version of Windows 7.
