Certificate Propagation

Default Description:

Propagates certificates from smart cards.

Additional Information:

Smart Cards are credit card sized with embedded microchips with encoded information to include anything desired, but usually access privledges. If you do not use Smart Cards on your computer, this service and the following group of services can safely be disabled:

Default Vista Home Basic: Manual
Default Vista Home Premium: Manual
Default Vista Business: Manual
Default Vista Ultimate: Manual

Safe Setting: Disabled *

Service Names:

Service Name (registry): CertPropSvc

Display Name: Certificate Propagation

Default Path and Command Line Options:

C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs
