Message Queuing

Default Description:

Provides a messaging infrastructure and development tool for creating distributed messaging applications for Windows-based networks and programs. If this service is stopped, distributed messages will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Additional Information:

Not installed by default, but if needed, you may install it later off the Windows Vista CD/DVD under Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > Check "Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) Server".

May be used on some domains, but the "average" home user will never need this service.
