Network Location Awareness

Default Description:

Collects and stores configuration information for the network and notifies programs when this information is modified. If this service is stopped, configuration information might be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Additional Information:

Since both the Network List Service and SL UI Notification Service require this service to be active, none of them should be disabled. It has been reported to me that Real Player may require this service, otherwise it will stall. It has also been reported to me that Windows Live OneCare firewall requires this service.
