Receives trap messages generated by local or remote SNMP agents and forwards the messages to SNMP management programs running on this computer.
This service does not install by default, but if needed, you may install it later off the Windows XP CD by heading to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Select "Management and Monitoring Tools " > Details button > Check "Simple Network Management Protocol".
