HomeGroup Provider

Default Description:

Performs networking tasks associated with configuration and maintenance of homegroups. If this service is stopped or disabled, your computer will be unable to detect other homegroups and your homegroup might not work properly. It is recommended that you keep this service running.

Additional Information:

HomeGroup is new to Windows 7 and currently is only available with Windows 7 network connected systems. As such, disabling the following group of services with only one Windows 7 local networked computer or standalone system is safe:

• HomeGroup Listener
• HomeGroup Provider
