General Information

You may not desire new Bluetooth devices to be discovered and connected. This could be an issue if in an internet cafe or other location where many portable devices are around and you are using a laptop or netbook. This service is safe to disable if you have no desire or use for external bluetooth equipment such as mice, keyboards and phone or PDA devices.

Default Description

The Bluetooth service supports discovery and association of remote Bluetooth devices. Stopping or disabling this service may cause already installed Bluetooth devices to fail to operate properly and prevent new devices from being discovered or associated.

  1. Hello, love your site! I use it alot!
    Just wanted to comment on the Bluetooth disabling option. On my computer it must be running in order for the “safely remove hardware and eject media” button in the Notification area to work.
    I had disabled it and it took me some googling to figure out why.
