  1. I have 4 versions of this service, whats the difference? What should I disable? Whats the difference? I’m running WIN7ProSP1 64bit. I goggled them but I can’t figure out the difference, is one a newer version? From what I can tell they have something to do with windows update.

    V2.0.50727_X64
    V2.0.50727_X86

    V4.0.30319_X64
    V4.0.30319_X86

    • I have the same four processes you do, TalkativeLurker. The thing about .net frameworks is that they’re designed to work side by side with other .net frameworks. If you’ve got a 64 bit system, it installs both the 32 and 64 bit versions of a framework, since different programs will use each. On top of that, some programs use earlier versions of the framework, and some use the latest. I think we’re up to v4 now. Basically, if it’s installed, something you run uses that version, and it’s best to just leave it be. Having just the latest and greatest is no guarantee all your programs will work.

  2. well obviously you have .net framework 2 and 4 installed
and as you can see both come in 32bit and 64bit

you can disable both if no program you have installed requires .net
personally its garbage to me and I avoid it in large radius
although version 2 cannot be removed in win7 or vista as they make “core” of graphic subsystem
