www.BlackViper.com: PlayStation 2

Random Thoughts

  • Purchased a PlayStation 2 for a little more console gaming until more titles for the XBOX are released. Really... I am getting tired of the PC patch scene. Read my rant on XBOX here.
  • (UPDATE: 23FEB2002) I do wish that SOME game developer would get the bright idea of using the memory cards for something more than save games... Like, maybe even CONTROLLER CONFIGURATIONS! Wow! They might even be able to INCLUDE them in the save game, of which I am assuming that configurations for 12 buttons, a d-pads and 2 sticks cannot take up THAT much room! I almost always hate the "default" controls. I want to remap every button to what ever I want. When is this actually going to happen?!?

Quick Bytes

Final Fantasy X:

I have not had a chance to play this game... Do Not yell! :) Anyway, I will get to it soon... but when I played FF7 on PC, I did not move for 40 hours. :)

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy:

Being a long time fan of Gauntlet, I needed a little bit of the arcade version in my house. Since I do not have the dough to plunk out for the REAL thing, this was as close as I could get. The game is great as long as you like button mashing/monster killing style RPG's. I just happen to fit right in.

Gran Turismo 3: A-spec:

Initial thought: wow. Many reviewers compare new titles to this one. Needless to say, I had to see what the hype was about. I am overwhelmed at the different car/tuning options. Not going anywhere for awhile? Pull up a chair and gaze into the screen...

Grand Theft Auto 3:

I still giggle at the fun I had with GTA#1 on PC. The pure fun factor is great, as long as you are of age to play. There is a reason for the "Mature" rating.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City:

An outstanding sequel in a line of games geared for adults. If you enjoyed GTA3, you will love Vice City.
