With a default Windows 8 setup, several different ways exist to get to the system settings and find out what version (either 32-bit or 64-bit) is running. The easiest that I have found is:
- Head to Start (Windows Key)
- Type System
- Select Settings (under Search Bar/Under Apps)
- Select System (under Results)
- In the System – System Type section, it will display “32-bit Operating System” or “64-bit Operating System”.
Or:
- Head to Start (Windows Key)
- Right Click an EMPTY area
- Select All Apps (bottom right)
- Select Control Panel (under Windows System)
- Select System and Security
- Select System
- In the System – System Type section, it will display “32-bit Operating System” or “64-bit Operating System”.
