How do I know if I am using 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 8?

With a default Windows 8 setup, several different ways exist to get to the system settings and find out what version (either 32-bit or 64-bit) is running. The easiest that I have found is:

  1. Head to Start (Windows Key)
  2. Type System
  3. Select Settings (under Search Bar/Under Apps)
  4. Select System (under Results)
  5. In the System – System Type section, it will display “32-bit Operating System” or “64-bit Operating System”.
Or:
  1. Head to Start (Windows Key)
  2. Right Click an EMPTY area
  3. Select All Apps (bottom right)
  4. Select Control Panel (under Windows System)
  5. Select System and Security
  6. Select System
  7. In the System – System Type section, it will display “32-bit Operating System” or “64-bit Operating System”.
